چکیده

Existing pedestrian dynamics models differ in computational effort and their ability to authentically describe human movement behaviour. Hybrid approaches combine different models to speed up simulation time and to improve the results of the simulation. Current hybrid approaches can only combine a specific set of models. It is not possible to independently change the coupled models from the hybrid approach. Furthermore, transition of pedestrians between the different models is only possible at specific entry points. TransiTUM overcomes these issues and can combine any model if provided a certain set of parameters, which are common in pedestrian dynamics (e.g., pedestrians’ positions, velocities). In this paper, the coupling of mesoscopic and microscopic scales is presented. c © 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Peer-review under responsibility of PED2014.

A generic and hybrid approach for pedestrian dynamics to couple cellular automata with network flow models

Large pedestrian dynamics scenarios are difficult to simulate by models with high spatial resolution in reasonable time, due to high computational costs. Possible solutions are hybrid approaches, which combine models of different spatial scales. On the macroscopic scale, network flow models are used to model pedestrian dynamics. These models reduce the scenario to a simple network of nodes and ...

Simulation of Pedestrian Dynamics with Macroscopic and Microscopic Mathematical Models

Here, we collect two parts of a research project on the pedestrian flow modeling. Rapid growth in the volume of public transport and the need for its reasonable, efficient planning have made the description and modeling of transport and pedestrian behaviors as important research topics in the past twenty years. First, we present a macroscopic model for the pedestrian flow based on continuum mec...

Diffusive Dynamicsof Binary Lennard-Jones Liquid in the Presence of Gold Nanoparticle: A Mode Coupling Theory Analysis

Molecular dynamics simulation has been performed to analyze the effect of the presence of gold nanoparticle on dynamics of Kob-Anderson binary Lennard-Jones (BLJ) mixture upon supercooling within the framework of the mode coupling theory of the dynamic glass transition. The presence of gold nanoparticle has a direct effect on the liquid structure and causes the peaks of the radial distribution ...

Agent-Based Social Simulation within a Generic Framework for Environmental Modelling

We present an approach for the support of agent-based social simulation (ABSS) models within a generic framework for computer-based environmental modelling. The framework allows for the coupling of simulation models from various sciences to perform integrative simulations. It is applicable to any kind of model which simulates spatially distributed environmental processes with an arbitrary, but ...

A multiscale coupling method for the modeling of dynamics of solids with application to brittle cracks

We present a multiscale model for numerical simulations of dynamics of crystalline solids. The method combines the continuum nonlinear elasto-dynamics model, which models the stress waves and physical loading conditions, and molecular dynamics model, which provides the nonlinear constitutive relation and resolves the atomic structures near local defects. The coupling of the two models is achiev...
